David Gluck is a Canadian fine artist and realism tattoo artist based in Duncan on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Known for his highly detailed work and classical approach to image making, his art bridges the traditions of academic oil painting and contemporary tattooing.

Before entering the tattoo industry, David trained extensively as a fine artist, developing a strong foundation in anatomy, composition, and classical realism. His paintings and drawings draw inspiration from the great realist traditions of the 19th century while often exploring themes from nature, mythology, and the human figure.

 

As a tattoo artist, David specializes in black and grey realism, portraiture, wildlife, and large-scale custom compositions. His work is sought after by collectors across Vancouver Island and beyond who are looking for highly refined, carefully designed tattoos with a painterly sense of light and form.

 

David works by appointment from his studio alongside his wife Katherine Stone on Vancouver Island and is known for collaborating closely with clients to create thoughtful, original pieces that are designed to age well on the skin.  In addition, he continues his fine art career primarily through the western art market of the United States.
